US public transportation ridership on the decline, but not in Arizona

Public transportation in the United States as a whole is on the decline. According to the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Public Transportation Ridership Report for 2017, it is down 2.9%. There are a multitude of different types of public transport, these include: heavy rail, light rail, commuter rail, trolleybus, and buses.

America's 48th Earth Day Approaches

It was an oil spill in 1969 in Santa Barbara, California and nearly a decade of fighting for environmental justice that inspired U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson to create the first Earth Day in 1970, according to Earthday.org. The date of April 22 was chosen because it was between Spring Break and final exams at universities, and they wanted as much student participation as possible, as listed on the Gaylord Nelson and Earth Day website.

Emergency blue light phones provide students with peace of mind

Personal safety is important to pay attention to, especially at a university. At Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff, Arizona, the campus utilizes an emergency blue light phone system for students to stay safe. Prospective students and their parents are always looking for a university that works to keep everyone free from harm.
